I am Amy Walder.
I have been participating in the joy of music making since I was born in to my family where music was part of our daily fabric.
I have played music since the age of 4, playing the recorder, the ukulele, and finally settling on the violin at age 7. I expanded to include the viola when I was 13 years old.
I started teaching when I was in High school and started coaching string quartets when I was in college.
I have performed as a soloist, as a chamber musician and as an orchestral musician. I have performed on both the violin and the viola.
I treasure both my teaching and my performing as each informs the other.
In addition, my path led me to study the Alexander Technique. I have been a student of the technique for over 25 years, and have been a certified teacher of the Alexander Technique for 18 years.
I am passionate about helping musicians of all ages play without pain. To Play with Joy.
